Boy from Dibrugarh Tops Medical Entrance

Dibrugarh: Pratyush Patowary of Guwahati topped the Medical Entrance Examination (MEE), 2016, the results of which were declared on Wednesday.

As many as 18,656 candidates had appeared for the entrance test, which was conducted by Dibrugarh University, for admission to 588 MBBS and 16 BDS seats in Assam.

Pratyush secured 263 out of 300 with an aggregate of 87.6%. He obtained 85 in physics, 88 in chemistry and 90 in biology. His father, Pankaj Patowary, is a resident of Maligaon and is employed as a chief engineer with ONGC in Mumbai. His mother Jyotima is a housewife..

Pratyush passed his Class XII board exam this year from Delhi Public School, Guwahati, with a CGPA score of 10. He also secured an all-India rank of 272 in the AIIMS MBBS entrance examination this year.
